Hademade Crochet for Zimbabwe
Coming down from a birthday high as I open the emails that i’ve neglected for the last few days while celebrating my 26th. I am an incredibly strong and hard-headed woman down to my bones, but I feel things so very deeply, and all of the love I received this year has been incredibly humbling. The messages, calls, texts, videos and comments are not lost on me. I read every single one. I am so grateful for this little community we have created. You guys are what allow me to do what I love every single day, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the love and support you show me.
So, when Emma O. of Emma O Clothing reached out to me about working together I wasn’t only totally flattered, but also felt like I was also given a beautiful opportunity to give back. Emma O has dressed some of the biggest names in the business – Kourtney Kardashian, Chiara Ferragni, Rachel Barnes to name a few. But that is not what makes her or her successful company amazing. What makes her exquisite, handmade crochet items even more beautiful is that they allow children in Zimbabwe to have a chance at life. 60% of Emma’s profits go to Charity in Zimbabwe, Africa, and she is responsible for helping build 5 schools for unprivileged children in the area. The handmade items aren’t a hard sell. Just one scroll through her website and you will have already added 6 items to your cart (trust me, I’ve been there). It is a beautiful way to help others, and I don’t know about you, but I love buying pieces that remind me of something or somewhere. And every time I wear this dress it reminds me to spread love and to offer random acts of kindness more often.
