Embroidery

Good morning from Monterey! Patrick surprised me with a night stay in Monterey for my Birthday! He spoils me, I don’t know how I got so lucky!! We have been wanting to come back here so bad since we watched Bid Little Lies (if you haven’t watched this show you NEED TO). Yesterday we pulled off the road to walk along the beach because the waves were huge! There was also huge swarm of birds about 100 yards out in the ocean which seemed odd, and then a FREAKING WHALE was right there! This happened right as we walked up to the water! The birds went where the whale went, so we would watch where they went and see the whale come up for air every few minutes. It was crazy!!!

26th Birthday

Time is such a strange thing. As I sit here typing this post, I could swear to you that I just turned 25 yesterday. Instead, an entire year has gone by. So much has happened in the last year. I have seen incredible growth in so many areas of my life. Growth that has been 26 years in the making, and I find myself taken aback my the amount of gratitude for where I sit today. All of the incredible highs and unbearable lows that life may throw your way start to make more and more sense as you get older. They make you appreciate things more. They make you recognize what is worth your precious thoughts and what is not. They make you laugh a little louder, love a little deeper and see the world for all of its possibilities. As another birthday passes, I realize more and more that materials don’t mean anything. Life is all about the connections you have with those close to you and the moments you get to share with them.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo! This maxi dress from Alter Ego gives off some major Spanish vibes – so of course I am wearing it for the occasion! Like, you can totally picture me strolling a spanish market sipping on a marg, right?! The cut on this dress is so insanely flattering and also has a completely open back. & the he color is so striking – making it a real crowd pleaser. I paired it with red tassel earrings so that the pops of red in the dress would stand out even more! Now grab a marg, your girlfriends and eat all the chips and salsa your heart desires.

Cow Hollow Sunshine

Good morning, loves! Our neighborhood is so beautiful right now! Everything is starting to bloom and the streets are starting to become more and more colorful. Understated floral details are so lovely this time of year, and I love this off-the-shoulder top from Modern Vintage Boutique for that reason!

Patrick and I have been so busy lately, so we didn’t even think about planning anything for my Birthday (I’m not big on Birthday celebrations for myself… just like to spend the day with loved ones!). But yesterday when I got home, Patrick said that he booked a night stay for us somewhere within a 3-hour drive from San Francisco, but won’t tell me where! All he said is that it is a casual place and that we will be going on a hike (what I asked for!!). Any guesses on where we are going?! I have no idea!!

As I get older, and because of what I do for a living, I care less and less about material things and more about experiences. About 3 years ago, Patrick and I decided that for every big occasion we would go on trips together, rather than buying each other presents. I swear it was the best decision we have ever made!!

Navy Stripes & Ruffles

You guys! This sun! I’m in heaven over here now that we are having upper 70’s in San francisco. It seriously doesn’t get any better! I am trading in my office today for a cute cafe to get work done and enjoy some of this sunshine! Short and sweet post today to share one of my favorite new dresses for Summer. I mean come on.. these sleeves? I die. So good.
