The Farmhouse Inn is located in the heart of Sonoma, California. Nestled in the scenic rolling hills of wine country, just South of Healdsburg and a quick 30 minute drive to Napa Valley. It boasts all of the amenities of a 5 Star Luxury Resort, with the quaint and charming qualities of a bed and breakfast. It is the perfect romantic getaway from San Francisco, or a wine tasting trip with friends. Patrick and I celebrated our 6-year Anniversary back in September, and booked our trip to the Farmhouse Inn on a weekend when our work schedules slowed down a bit. It is so easy to get consumed in work and our daily routines, but we have always made it a priority to get away each year and just enjoy each others company. I just adore this man so much and the Farmhouse helped make this years Anniversary so special.

With just a quick hour drive from San Francisco, we arrived to the charming Farmhouse Inn with a warm greeting and a glass of wine. The first thing we do whenever we get to a new place is quickly put our stuff in our room and explore the grounds while there is still light out. The Farmhouse is surrounded by the most stunning vineyards. The location is such a dream, and you feel so secluded! There are only 25 suites on-site, so it feels very intimate and remote.

The spacious suites are the perfect blend between country charm and high-end luxury. Our neutral-toned suite was furnished with vaulted wood ceilings, a cozy double-sided fireplace, and contained the bathroom of my dreams with heated white marble floors and a large steam shower. I was ready to move in the second I walked in.

We immediately felt at ease here with an incredibly attentive concierge staff that made us feel at home the moment we walked in. The nightly milk and cookies delivery were a sweet touch and my love for baths was enhanced with the large jacuzzi bath tub equipped with a bath bar containing seasonal scrubs, salts, milk bath and handmade olive oil bar soaps. I might have taken an extra square of the Lavender soap home with me.

We made a dinner reservation at The Farmhouse Restaurant, a Michelin Starred restaurant that is on site. The food is all locally sourced changed daily depending on what is fresh in Sonoma County. For my second course I had the most outstanding Swiss Chard Ricotta Tortellini, topped with shaved burgundy truffles. I would drive an hour from San Francisco just to have this Tortellini, it was that good.

We were warned about the s’more bar prior to our visit. We cuddled up by the fire pit in the evening, and couldn’t resist indulging in a couple s’mores made with housemade marshmallows, Vahlrona chocolate and crunchy grahams. We had the most romantic, charming and relaxing weekend celebrating our Anniversary together, and the Farmhouse proved to be all the lovely things you would expect, plus so much more.
